Born in Lancaster to Irish parents, studied at the University of Leeds. He began acting at an early age but focussed on academics. Upon graduating Alexander returned to acting and has recorded more than 25 audiobooks as well as commercials, music videos for several bands including the Kaiser Chiefs and The Libertines, on stage in A Midsummer Night's dream, Sense and Sensibility and Dracula as well
